This Privacy Policy explains how Capturing Illumination LLC (“Capturing Illumination,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website at capturingillumination.com or use any of our products.

Products covered. This policy applies to: The 509 Loft, Once Upon Us, HomeBaseTV, MellowMiles, SkyWatch, ARIA, Harmonia, and any future product we publish under the Capturing Illumination brand.

Product-specific terms. Individual products may have supplemental privacy disclosures for features unique to that product (for example, on-device voice processing or location data). Those disclosures are surfaced in-app and on each product's page, and are read together with this policy.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you create an account.
• Contact information — anything you submit through our contact form (name, email, message).
• Product-generated data — depending on the product, this may include trip data, location, biometric-adjacent measurements, voice recordings, exercise history, sensor readings, or story content. Details are provided in each product's in-app disclosure.
• Payment information — processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
• Usage and device information — page views, referrers, device model, OS, crash and performance telemetry (Sentry) needed to keep products working.
• Cookies and similar — for authentication, preferences, and analytics on the website.

• Operate, maintain, and improve our website and products.
• Authenticate you and secure your account.
• Provide product features you request (for example, generating a story in your voice, or displaying your drive history).
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Respond to inquiries and provide support.
• Detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our terms.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers we rely on to operate: Supabase (auth and data), Vercel and Railway (hosting), Stripe / Apple / Google (payments), Sentry (crash reporting), Resend or similar (email), and analogous providers listed per product.
• To comply with law or lawful process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Capturing Illumination, our users, or the public.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

• Access, update, or delete your account information from within the product or by emailing us.
• Opt out of non-essential email communications.
• Where applicable (CCPA, GDPR, and similar laws), request access, correction, portability, or deletion of your personal information.
• Contact us to appeal any decision we make about a request.

Our website is not directed to children under 13. Certain products (such as Once Upon Us) are designed to be used with a child by a parent or legal guardian. In those cases, the parent or guardian is the account holder and is responsible for their child's use of the product. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and default-deny data access policies. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We are based in the Washington, United States. If you use our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Effective” date above and, when appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the services after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
