Frequently Asked Questions

How do I upload my work for critique?

Navigate to your dashboard and click "Upload New Work." You can upload images, add context about your creative process, and specify what kind of feedback you're looking for. Remember, the more context you provide, the more meaningful the critiques you'll receive.

What makes a good critique on CI?

Great critiques on CI are thoughtful, specific, and constructive. Focus on what works, what could be improved, and why. Reference specific elements like composition, lighting, concept, or emotional impact. Always maintain respect for the artist's vision and vulnerability in sharing their work.

How does the AI critique feature work?

Our AI critique engine provides initial feedback suggestions to help jumpstart meaningful conversations. It analyzes technical and artistic elements of your work, but human critique from our community members remains the heart of the CI experience. AI critiques are meant to supplement, not replace, human insight.

Can I make my work private?

Yes! You have full control over your work's visibility. You can choose to share work publicly with the community, keep it private for personal review, or share it with specific critique partners. Your privacy settings can be adjusted at any time from your portfolio management page.

What file formats do you support?

We support JPEG, PNG, and WebP image formats up to 10MB per file. For optimal viewing experience, we recommend uploading high-quality images at least 1200px on the longest side. RAW files are not currently supported, but we recommend exporting your best edited version for critique.

How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?

If you encounter content or behavior that violates our community guidelines, please report it immediately. You can use the report function on any piece of content, or email us directly atabuse@capturingillumination.com. We take all reports seriously and review them promptly.
